About Moonshot

Gali Fakta Case Study
Moonshot came up with the a question: Can online disinformation be reduced through education? And can we make it fun?
They already had misinformation materials prepared, but they need a name, a site, and a game format to challenge curious learners.
We started with research, running polls and conducting interviews first to learn how people consume information. After determining their target audience persona, we focused on the early adapters for the experience’s launch. The gameplay is simple: You are thrown into a family chat with people sharing many posts. Your mentor is too busy to answer, so they need you to check everything. You can check the source and confirm if it’s true or not. Right answers lead your family away from danger, similar to real life.
On launch, 85% of players finish the game, way above expectations, meaning people enjoyed learning about fighting disinformation. We have also been able to track users’ responses to see if they get better over time, making it the first educational web app in this space to do so.
To play the English version of the game, you can check that out here.
